Brief:
To create symbols of hope, unity & action that could be a banner icon for the fossil fuel free movement with the potential to transcend language and capture people’s imaginations by becoming part of the cultural zeitgeist.
Solution:
We created symbols inspired by Sign language
as a banner for hope, unity and action.

Problem:
There is no universal symbol to unite the fossil fuel free movement.
Insight:
Hand gestures are a powerful way to communicate globally.

Solution:
OUR SYMBOLS
HOPE
We’ve taken the ‘S’ and ‘E’ for Sustainable
Energy in British Sign Language and
combined them to create a symbol for
HOPE. We’re making a pinky promise to
hold onto the HOPE of a better future.
UNITY
We’ve taken the ‘F’ in American Sign
Language and linked them together
to create the British Sign Language
gesture for UNITY. Through unity, we can break big oil’s grip on the world.
ACTION
We’ve taken the ‘F’ in British
Sign Language and crossed
them over to take ACTION
and say no to fossil fuels.
